About Golden Butterfly Bakers

Every day the homeless and other Houstonians in need are feeling forgotten and unwanted. There are multitudes of nonprofit organizations working on the front lines to help redirect these broken lives through case management, supportive services and housing navigation. Golden Butterfly Bakers stands alone as the only non-profit organization in the Greater Houston area solely dedicated to providing baked goods to homeless and recovery organizations, and human trafficking and youth rescue facilities to foster hope and emotional healing.

Every week Golden Butterfly Bakers brings cookies and biscuits to the residents of The Mission of Yahweh. As each child has a different experience with homelessness, this one small thing of getting a cookie treat may seem small to some people, but to them it’s a luxury … they’ve told us how much they love them and how much it gives them a sense of “home”.

God blessed us with the gift of and passion for baking in order that we may be a blessing to others. We will respect and honor the recipients by providing delicious baked goods made with quality ingredients, flavored with prayer, love, and joy.

We are passionate volunteers bringing a bit of heaven to earth by doing what we do best: baking delicious cookies and other goods with lots of love, laughter and creativity. 

Who we serve

We serve the homeless, marginalized, forgotten and incarcerated. Since Golden Butterfly Bakers came into existence, over 35,000 individuals have received little tastes of home. We distribute our baked goods by partnering with other established non-profit, charitable, 501(c)(3) organizations in the Houston area providing services to the homeless, transitional housing for youth and adults previously homeless or in addiction recovery, other organizations serving those in need, and prisoners seeking a new way of living through the Kairos prison ministry.
